US Dept. of Health and Human Services announced Marketplace Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.  They extended it through August 15, consumers seeking to take advantage of the new SEP can find out if they are eligible by visiting HealthCare.gov. A mother will discuss the journey of struggles and achievements she has experienced parenting a child diagnosed as severely mentally ill. The Parent Connect Group is open to any parent/guardian living in Johnson County, Kansas. Center for Disease Control (CDC) ordered a temporary halt in Residential Evictions to Prevent the Further Spread of COVID-19.  More info...  The CDC announced an extension to July 31, 2021.  Click Here to read the Media Release.  

Regarding the Eviction Moratorium evictions will not automatically be halted, the tenant must meet certain criteria and give their landlord a signed declaration with several statements including that they cannot pay rent. The declaration must include some exact language.

Kansas Housing Resources Corporation has a new program for rent and utility assistance which began taking applications on Monday March 15: Kansas Emergency Rental Assistance (KERA) Program.  This will be for Kansas Residents, except those residing in Wichita.  Wichita which has their own program beginning February 22.  To view eligibility criteria and apply visit their Website.  

Please note both Landlords and Tenants both need to apply.
