Agency of the Month Highlight – May 2022

East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN) serves 16 counties in Kansas including Douglas, Wyandotte, Johnson, and Miami Counties in the Greater Metro area with their Weatherization Assistance Program.  At no charge to the client, income-eligible families receive a comprehensive home energy audit, which is an assessment of the entire home. Their certified energy auditor will search the entire home, inside and out, looking for inefficiencies and safety concerns using advanced equipment and techniques. The energy audit will identify a customized account of areas for cost-effective improvements. The improvements will be provided free of charge by their network of professional crews and contractors.  You can apply both online or via printed application, more information on how to apply is available on their website.

If your household has someone who receives one of the following, the household is automatically considered eligible for weatherization services:
*Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
*Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits
*Utility assistance from the Low Income Energy Association Program (LIEAP)
